Miss Jefferson County & Little Sisters Program

The Miss Jefferson County Scholarship competition is an opportunity for young women in our community to improve social skills, learn interview skills and be provided with scholarship funds for their future education. The competition includes a pageant and is held every year during the County Fair. Competitions include Community Involvement Essay, Personal Interview, Evening Gown, and On-Stage Question. There is also an optional Talent competition, which is independent from the primary scholarship competition, and awards a monetary prize. During the course of her reign, Miss Jefferson County will be a presence in county parades and be accessible for special community events and is encouraged to be a community volunteer.

The Little Sisters program, open to girls in grades third through fifth, will be a mentoring program rather than a competition and is associated with the Miss Jefferson County pageant. The goal of the program is that each little sister will be both a friend and a helper to the girls competing in the pageant, and will also represent the Miss Jefferson County pageant itself.
